Big Heart - Clear Mind
Inner development, our sense of wellbeing, and ability to cope with the problems and difficulties of life, all need a clear mind and a big heart. We fly to our freedom using the power of two wings - wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice is often seen as the training of attention and awareness (mindfulness) to meet the truth of our experience. This is one wing. The other wing is kindness and the loving heart.
In this retreat we will learn to let go of boundaries, and expand and develop the great capacity of the heart to help us reconnect with ourselves and the world. We will practice kindness, friendliness, and compassion to ourselves and to others, which is so needed in our lives. We will also refine our emotional life, helping to move from anger, irritation, disappointment, sadness and fear, to joy, enthusiasm, love and compassion.
We will take the first days to develop presence, clarity and awareness, and then use traditional Buddhist practices for developing Metta and other Brahma Viharas, the immeasurable expanded powers of the heart. In silent meditation we will listen to the music of our feeling life, and transform this flow towards loving-kindness and compassion.
